The BMW 530d is a central model in the new G30 5-series range. Though its Automatic Transmission is boon and blessing for BMW 530d, sometimes it offers some problem and it fails to shift automatically or it shifts erratically i.e. sometimes works and sometime resits to perform its function. I am going to make a quick notice about a problem i encountered a few days ago, starting with a check engine light (CEL). The CEL after a quick diagnosis revealed a malfunctioning swirl flap actuator (signal too low). Went to the dealership and they discovered enormous carbon deposits on the intake manifold. Most buyers will choose diesel, and specifically, the 520d. BMW claims it’s capable of returning between 49.6.4-58.9 mpg, depending on spec. The 530d xDrive has four-wheel drive and is less efficient, as you’d imagine, but perhaps not by as much as some may expect. Claimed fuel economy figures range between 46.3-52.3mpg. BMW quotes a combined 4.3 litres per hundred kilometres from the 520d, which will also spit out 114g per kilometre of C02. The 530d lifts that number to 4.7 litres per hundred kilometres (which seems a small price to pay for all that extra torque), with C02 pegged at 124g per kilometre. The 520d and 530d will use a 2.0 liter turbo-four and 3.0 liter turbo-six diesel, respectively. the G30 BMW 5 Series should be another successful generation in the 5 Series’ legacy. I test drove G30 530D today expecting a massive difference in real world acceleration and shove in the back compared to my 520d etc. To be sincere I was disappointed. The car felt heavier than mine, ' I did not feel ' the acceleration was not significantly different in real life compared to my 520d. The new G30 BMW 5 Series offers no less than 8 variants with a diesel engine. Not all of them are available worldwide, but this is a clear sign that the Germans are not giving up on diesel.
