First post here - just bought a 2007 C4 Picasso with 43,000 miles, Petrol version. I'm seeing the following three faults intermittently. 'FAULTY SIDELAMP' 'FAULTY LH BRAKE LIGHT' 'FAULTY INDICATOR' The brake light and sidelamps are definitely ok - checked these repeatedly last night - bright and working fine.
Ok the guy came round and he thinks it could be one of these issues. My battery is only ruuning at 11.7 so possibly a new battery needed, wiring of Electric Hand Brake or Electric Hand Brake ECU. All the signs were obviously showing a fault directed towards the handbrake.. He said he tested the brake pedal switch and got readings as ok.
In April 2011, a recall was issued for Citroen C4 Picasso vehicles due to a defect with one of the electric parking brake cables which could lead to insufficient application (i.e. only one wheel locked), accompanied by the lighting of the parking brake warning lamp on the instrument panel and the 'parking brake fault' message appearing on the multifunction screen.
Ive tried that - when I say the fault isn't there - what I mean is the auto brake works - i.e disengages the car - however as soon as soon as the fault shows the auto handbrake feature stops working. Its like the car is on catch up with the fault. I have a cup of tea in hand which is always a good thing ..I will try your suggestion again though.
I hear 3 beeps, get a message of FAULTY HANDBRAKE, FAULTY ESP /ASR SYSTEM, and the yellow warning lights for ESP, AUTO P OFF and SERVICE are permanently on. In practice the automatic handbrake does not work when I stop or start, and the Hill assistance is also always off. The handbrake works manually though.
1) Handbrake faulty. 2) ESP/ASR fault (which I presume is linked to the handbrake issue) Both of these correct themselves if I turn off the ignition and start the car again but return, sometimes very quickly sometimes I can drive for quite a while before they return. 3) RF unit for the remote locking seems to be dead.
Really need some help have a C4GPE 2008 and it has the hand brake fault i have two codes U1219 Permanent Fault Automatic Release of the electric parking brake data invalid. C1555 Electric Parking Brake Activation/Deactivation control short circuit to earth or to positive. I have just tried a new hand brake switch but with no luck. Still has
cured its working ok. the fault was lack of communication with the esp module. this module uses the brake actuators for understeer and oversteer compensation. to complicated for its own good. take out the middle rear seat and lift the flap in the carpet. this give access to the fuel pump. the plastic tubes carrying the wiring can be seen here. you have a positive a negative, pins one and four
